An awesome life. Independent National Sales Director Vicki Jo Auth grew up using Mary Kay® products. “My mom instilled the importance of good skin care in me and my two sisters.” But it was several years before Vicki heard about the opportunity.
“It was fun, and I got to dress up,” Vicki describes her first guest event. “I loved it – everything I heard and saw.” Her co-worker and friend, Independent Senior National Sales Director Rebbecca Evans, invited her and soon became her team leader and later her Senior NSD. “Rebbecca is such a big thinker who leads by example,” Vicki says. “And Independent Executive National Sales Director Emeritus Irmel Boyle, my first NSD, encouraged the ‘just-do-it’ attitude in me. I was doubly blessed with mentors!”
“Mary Kay’s company is great because she was great first,” Vicki points out. “It’s an honor to pass it on.” Vicki loved traveling with Mary Kay Ash on the Top Sales Director Trips. “We adored her ‘one-liners!’” But, her favorite memory occurred when Mary Kay invited Vicki’s then six-year-old daughter, Jenna, to her office for lunch. “I was asked to leave while they ate and talked for two hours!”
Jenna, now a college student, has caught the travel bug from her parents. Vicki, her husband, Allen, and Jenna also enjoy cooking, watching movies and playing board games. “Jenna’s benefited so much from growing up with Mary Kay's values,” Vicki says. Those benefits also extend to Vicki’s family – mom, sisters, aunt and cousins who enjoy their own Mary Kay businesses. “The opportunity is so great,” Vicki emphasizes, “you want the people you love the most to be part of it!”
“And I have such an attitude of gratitude,” Vicki explains. “With a Mary Kay business, there’s always a new challenge. I can’t wait for each day!”
