“Mary Kay Ash said that women were the greatest unused resource in America, and I knew this to be true. I tied right into her vision. ”

A dean of women. As a social activist and a teacher, Pat Campbell has tackled everything from segregated schools to domestic violence. She even founded a school for the performing arts and built a performing arts center in her community. As an Independent National Sales Director Emeritus, she relishes the opportunity to help even more women build belief in themselves.

“When I heard Mary Kay Ash speak at my first Seminar in 1974, I realized the opportunity wasn’t about cosmetics, but about liberating women. She said that women were the greatest untapped resource in America, and I knew this to be true. I tied right into her vision.” As a university professor, Pat had often encountered discrimination in the workplace. Ironically, she could not get a business loan to start her Mary Kay business even though she had supported her husband through college for five years before.

“Early in my Mary Kay business, I was invited to attend a dinner with Mary Kay Ash. At the time, I was contemplating taking a new job as assistant dean of women. I asked Mary Kay what I should do and she said, ‘Become an Independent Sales Director and be a real dean of women.’ Now I am a real dean of women!” says Pat wisely.

Pat likes to say that she took the scenic route through her Mary Kay journey to National Sales Director instead of the fast track. “I’ve experienced hills and valleys, had breakdowns and blowouts, taken detours and hit dead ends, but I've also seen breathtaking sunrises, sunsets and had mountaintop experiences. The Mary Kay opportunity is the greatest gift you’ll ever give yourself. You can create a whole new panorama you’ve never seen before.”
