Independent Elite Executive National Sales Director Emeritus Gloria Castaño wanted a better life, even if it meant leaving her Colombian homeland and risking her emotional security. “With faith in my heart, I believed I would find more opportunities and fewer obstacles to block my personal and professional growth as a woman, in the United States,” Gloria recalls.

When the Mary Kay opportunity came into her life several years later, she was a young mother and housewife. “I was filled with a desire to do something more with my life,” Gloria says. “I discovered, little by little, that the Mary Kay life was what I had always dreamed of – to be appreciated and recognized for what I am and for what I could do.”

It has been a business that allowed her to continue her family traditions and follow her faith, while achieving success. “Throughout the years, my Mary Kay business experience had a positive influence on my family and me,” Gloria says. “I had the opportunity to work with marvelous people. I found women who are strong, dedicated, proud, sharing and trustworthy.”

In the Emeritus phase of her life, Gloria continues to hold Mary Kay Ash near and dear to her heart, along with all her teachings. The dream and legacy Gloria hopes to leave is the courage to always have hope and faith in your hearts. “Always remember that integrity and truth will prevail; these are the pillars that build your business.” Although some things are uncertain, Gloria is sure of one thing: Wherever she can lend her knowledge and experience, that's where she'll be.
