A life-changing opportunity.
“I was working so hard to make a living that I didn’t have time for a life!” recalls Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Betty Gilpatric. When Betty was told her teaching responsibilities were being reduced due to budget cuts, she realized teaching was no longer taking her in the direction of her dreams.
Independent Future Executive Senior Sales Director Carol-Bea White, a former teacher, shared the Mary Kay opportunity with Betty. “Fear almost stopped me, but Carol-Bea’s belief propelled me beyond it! The Mary Kay opportunity seemed like an exciting new direction. I was back on track toward my dreams,” Betty says.
Betty experienced such abundance with her Mary Kay business. She and Jim, her husband and strongest supporter, enjoyed traveling, but more important, Betty’s Mary Kay business expanded her horizons and led to the realization of a childhood dream – being someone who is able to influence others.
“It’s all about helping to ensure that the women who come after me will have the same life-changing opportunity I’ve had and empowering them with my belief. That is the best tribute I can pay to our beloved founder, Mary Kay Ash.”
As an NSD Emeritus, Betty has a dream list! She loves learning and intends to enjoy new things, such as studying and practicing Qigong, a newly-found interest. She’s also going to teach English as a second language – something she enjoyed doing before. “Every Mary Kay experience will go with me, but I think that the confidence and self-esteem I’ve gained have prepared me to stay open to receiving whatever God has in store for me, with joy,” Betty affirms.
