Change my story. Like so many, Independent Senior National Sales Director Nancy Osborn had a full plate and was not looking for more to fill it to overflowing. However, she described her life as a hamster wheel, her sixty-hour work week as financially lacking and unfulfilling and her mindset as “knowing I was designed for a larger purpose, but not knowing what it was.” At the time, she was raising three teenage daughters and did not have that supportive spouse picking up slack. She was looking for skincare, heard that Mary Kay products were the best and did not have a personal Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Looking for someone who sold Mary Kay® products, Nancy came across a woman named Hope Hromas McDonald. Not only did Hope sell her the product, but she also offered her the opportunity. “So you see, it all started with the product and through Hope,” Nancy laughs. “I will be forever grateful.” Nancy’s National Area is aptly named the H.O.P.E. Area: an acronym for Helping Other People Evolve into their inside giant, while Having Only Positive Expectancy. When Nancy received her Mary Kay Starter Kit and her first Applause® magazine, she remembers thinking, “I am coachable. If these women can do it, I can too!” It was then that Nancy made the decision to change her story.
Nancy had the example of entrepreneurial parents, growing up, “but it was how they lived their lives with strong work ethics, servant hearts and God at the center of it all that prepared me for what was to come in my Mary Kay business,” she explains. Now, Nancy enjoys her Mary Kay life with her offspring Independent National Sales Director daughter, Annaka Krafka and her Independent Sales Director daughter, Alyssa Romshek. She is also very proud of her daughter, Alayna Sullivan, who also has a very entrepreneurial spirit and is a successful business owner, herself. “I feel incredibly blessed that we not only have the bond of family, but this business, too. Every activity is my favorite when it is spent with my daughters, sons-in-love and five of the most perfect grandchildren a woman could have,” Nancy beams.
Nancy is no stranger to challenges, setbacks, and obstacles – not to mention diagnoses and treatments - that would make one shudder. She says, “I choose to use them not as excuses, but as reasons and platforms for a life that will give others hope and permission to live their best life, too.”
The secret to her success? Nancy knows that, without a goal, life is just an existence. She advises to be on purpose for your life and never quit. Don’t shrink back. Instead, keep stretching, praying and always believing!” Change your story.
