No matter what. If one were to list the impressive highlights of Independent National Sales Director LaRonda Daigle’s Mary Kay journey – earning the use of her first Mary Kay car within six months of starting her business, driving her first Pink Cadillac within a year, 10 Pink Cadillacs and 20 trips earned, as she built her National Area - one might assume this business was easy for her. She says the challenges were tough, and the journey of building leaders was sometimes painful. “I built my entire business on people who were not my family and were not my best friends,” LaRonda recalls. In the beginning, she almost quit working her business, feeling lost and alone. “Growth hurts," she says, “but invaluable lessons have come through the journey.” She looks back on every frustration and obstacle as a precious gift and deposit into her future. Every lesson and every time she wanted to quit was worth the struggle. “Today,” she says, “you couldn’t pay me to quit.”
LaRonda and her husband, Troy, are raising two beautiful daughters, Madison and Cameron. The Daigle family’s time together includes travel, athletics and the beach. Madison competes in volleyball around the country and Cameron is avid in horseback riding. LaRonda began her business at age 25, the same year she and Troy married, so their girls have never known anything other than being Mary Kay kids.
LaRonda believes in keeping it simple, just as Mary Kay taught. Her entire area is “skin care class-focused and works full-circle,” LaRonda emphatically asserts, adding that she’ll never waver from that. She believes in working with integrity, the Mary Kay way, no matter what.
LaRonda was a member of Independent Executive National Sales Director Emeritus Carolyn Savage’s national Area before her retirement. “I love her with all my heart,” LaRonda says. “She believed in me when no one else did and, most importantly, she taught me how to build a legacy.” LaRonda also gives credit to mentors for distinct times she needed leadership. One mentor is Independent Senior National Sales Director Lisa Madson. “She is the one who lifted me to think differently as a new Independent Sales Director. I thought I dreamed big until I hung around her! She helped me believe I could become more,” LaRonda remembers. The other was Independent Elite Executive National Sales Director Emeritus Barbara Sunden. “She invested the time to teach me the difference between being a Million Dollar Sales Director and earning a million dollars. She taught me to pivot my focus… that it wasn’t about me, but about building an area of leaders.”
And finally, LaRonda sees Mary Kay’s mission as making a difference worldwide. “That’s what I intend to do,” she declares. Her purpose is to help women believe in who they are through the Mary Kay opportunity. “God humbled me and made me realize that life wasn’t about me; it was about living to serve.” It’s a “no matter what” thing with her. “I’m extremely passionate about helping women believe that they do not have to live defeated and depressed, but can walk with abundance. I’m blessed, because that is my story.”
