It’s that simple. Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Mattie Dozier began her Mary Kay business out of boredom and loneliness. “After coming home from work and eating dinner, my routine was to watch TV until the news ended and then go to bed,” Mattie recalls. “I always felt that I could have more fun doing something else each evening.”


So Mattie took the initiative to call a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. That phone call eventually led to an exciting and successful business.

 

“I honestly believe that everyone can be successful in a Mary Kay business if they will only follow the advice of those who have done it,” Mattie says. “When people tell me that sounds so simple, I say, it is simple.”

 

Mattie learned from others how to set goals and make them happen. Then she began passing those skills on to others. “The challenge is to always be there to touch lives for the better,” Mattie says. “We never stop giving to each other.”

 

In the process, she’s touched many members of her own family – including her daughter, sisters, a brother, sisters-in-law, nieces and cousins – who have all started Mary Kay businesses.

 

“Giving me control over my life is probably the most important thing that the Mary Kay opportunity has done for me,” Mattie continues. “And with so many things to do, places to go and people to see, loneliness and boredom are things of the past.”
