You Can Do It. Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Kaye Driggers says, “I had to see it for myself. I wrote it on my mirror. We built plans and dreamed dreams around it.” She tells the story of making a teddy bear she named “NSD,” who sported Kaye’s recorded voice, affirming that she was going to accomplish her goal to bring forth a new National Area. Changing her thought patterns and making a conscious effort to bury deep within her subconscious the belief that she really could do it is what it took for Kaye. That strategy was essential for this energetic, fun, charismatic woman and it worked! Today, she is filled with gratitude and pride for the offspring who are now the next generation of Mary Kay sales force leaders.
Along with her husband, Tim, Kaye raised four children, Justin, Joshua, Jessica and Jenna, who are now grown and have given them nine grandchildren. Fun on the lake is their favorite family pastime, and Kaye’s favorite place, aside from their home in South Carolina on Lake Murray, is the beach. Kaye is also an avid fan of the Carolina Gamecocks football team. Tim was in the military, and Kaye recalls at least 17 moves in 30 years and many military bases, but that never stopped her. “I just kept following my leaders’ advice and persevered,” she says.
Her parents worked hard and passed on that work ethic to Kaye. Her father made a believer out of her at an early age, when he took her to his place of employment, the local cotton mill, and showed her around. “If you don’t get an education, you are going to end up here,” he would say, wanting more for his daughter. Kaye is proud to say his wishes came true. The Mary Kay lifestyle is one that she enjoyed and is now becoming her legacy with Independent Beauty Consultant daughter, Jenna Ellerbee and Independent Senior Sales Director daughter-in-law Sara Driggers.
Kaye gives special tribute to her Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Gay Super, who always impressed Kaye with her fortitude and elegance, even when health issues made it a tough journey for Gay. “She always believed in me and inspired me,” Kaye says.
