Inheriting the Dream. Independent National Sales Director Maria Flores’ humble parents taught her that it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor; as long as you work hard, are an honest person and earn the respect of others, you will be rich beyond measure. Maria took that lesson to heart and put it into practice when she started her Mary Kay business. She says, “My Mary Kay business unleashed the giant inside of me and has allowed me to do great things!”

Maria loves the freedom that her Mary Kay business provides. Freedom to spend time with her husband, Santos, and their three children; Travis, Paloma and Jacqueline. Freedom to put her priorities of God first, family second and her career third. Freedom to not have to worry about when her next commissions check will come.

Maria recalls a time when she was younger when she envisioned that one day she would receive an inheritance. She wasn’t sure what the inheritance would be coming from meager roots, however she was pleasantly surprised to find her “inheritance” in her Mary Kay business. “Mary Kay Ash not only left us this incredible opportunity, but also her wisdom and knowledge of how to have a better life,” Maria says. “The personal growth that I have experienced because of what she left me is worth more than any monetary amount. “

She is grateful to her mentors, Independent National Sales Directors Mirna Mejía de Sánchez and Consuelo Prieto, who taught Maria to never give up. She is proud of the women who make up her National Area as they are Golden Rule driven and focused on high standards of excellence in all that they do. Maria is on a mission to change lives through the Mary Kay opportunity and passionate about passing on the “inheritance” that is known by many as Mary Kay Ash’s dream.
