The best is just ahead. “There’s no way you can know the life dream that may come true unless you try,” explains Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Kirk Gillespie. “Defined goals are not required to begin a Mary Kay business. I hadn’t a clue that the Mary Kay opportunity would lead to my life niche. Give your dreams a chance!” Kirk says.

Debuting as an Independent National Sales Director was not a destination for Kirk. “Most people with 30 years in the same business would be counting the days until they retired,” Kirk says, “but I truly felt like I’d just begun. The best was ahead! And now as an Emeritus, Kirk continues to feel that same way. After a decade of supporting and volunteering at a pro-life pregnancy center, Kirk moved into a staff position there, where she can use the gifts and leadership skills Mary Kay instilled in her. “I use my people skills, my confidence, my ability to build relationships and promote sales, my marketing ideas, social media experience and my communication skills! I have a dream to influence young women in life skills, for which my Mary Kay business has totally equipped me! I am excited to see the doors God is opening and will continue to open,” Kirk explains.

To the Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, Kirk recommends to “start with following the example of successful women who have gone ahead and shared a proven formula for success.” To Independent Sales Directors she suggests, “The speed of the leader is the speed of the gang!” And to a new Independent National Sales Director she suggests, “Continue to lead by example. Hold onto the integrity and values handed down by Mary Kay Ash and surrender each day to God. To whom much is given, much is expected. It is up to you to share, build, grow and lead with the heart of Mary Kay. It is up to you to pass it on; but, the outcome is not up to you. Release the outcome.”
