A hats-off moment. When Cyndee Gress became an Independent National Sales Director, she thought of one of her favorite childhood television shows, “Mary Tyler Moore.” “When Mary tosses her hat into the air, for me, that defines how it felt to be notified I was a National Sales Director! It’s absolutely a ‘throw your hat in the air’ kind of moment!” says Cyndee.
Growing up, Cyndee always loved beautiful things.. Today, she loves to cast a vision of endless possibilities for others, helping them to create a spectacular life for themselves. “I love watching other women’s Mary Kay businesses flourish. Seeing someone turn their dreams into a life they get to live abundantly both financially and spiritually is what I love the most,” she says.
Her Mary Kay business allows Cyndee to express her values and become “others focused.” “In the place I used to work, a corporate position in New York City, you didn’t have the opportunity to empower other women. That would be suicide — she would take your job. But Mary Kay Ash taught me to love the person I am and to have the courage to be true to myself. She taught me to make others feel important. There’s no shortage of powerful positions for women in a Mary Kay business
”The biggest change happened when her son, Tommy, was born. “I wake up each day trying to make principle-based decisions and striving to be the person God wants me to be and be the kind of person I want Tommy to grow up to be. Mary Kay’s philosophy allows my husband, Tom, and me to truly live God first, family second and career third.
”
Years ago, when Cyndee met Mary Kay Ash onstage at Seminar and said to her, “How can I ever thank you for how you’ve changed my life?” Mary Kay held Cyndee’s face in her hands and told her to repay her by sharing the Mary Kay opportunity over and over again. Cyndee is keeping her promise.
