A Change for the Better. As a single mother of five children, Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Juanita Gudiño remembers working long hours as a waitress to make ends meet before she started her Mary Kay business. She was in search of someone to help her with her skin care when she found a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, and the rest is history!
“Life was tough before my Mary Kay business,” shares Juanita. “There were times when I didn’t know how I would support my children. However, through my Mary Kay business, I was able to do that, as well as learn how to plan for the future.” Juanita believes that the Mary Kay opportunity transforms women from the inside out; with the potential to not only change their future, but their attitude and image. She says, “I loved watching women’s enthusiasm grow!”
As Juanita’s enthusiasm grew, she found herself in love and went on to marry her husband, Mario. She is grateful to him for all his love and support, noting that he was her number one fan through it all. She also gives credit to Mary Kay Ash, saying, “She changed my life! I wouldn’t be the woman that I am today without her!”
As an Independent National Sales Director, Juanita enjoyed being “Mary Kay” in the lives of the women that made up her National Area. From showing others how they could have a better life, to changing someone’s outlook on their future, she was motivated by helping others achieve their goals and dreams.
Now, as an NSD Emeritus, Juanita shares, “One of my granddaughters wants to be a lawyer and the other one wants to be an artist. That’s good, because whatever they choose to do, they will meet with enthusiasm. My daughter is a Mary Kay independent sales force member. She has dedicated herself to helping her daughters become more. They have seen that I – without knowing how to read or write, with all those obstacles, and five children – was able to do it. They don’t have any excuses. They cannot say, ‘I can’t do it,’ because they know I will say, ‘Yes, you can. You can do it. You are capable of anything,’ And that’s what I tell everyone facing obstacles; ‘You CAN do it! Juanita Gudiño did.’”
