Clarify the Why. For Independent National Sales Director Annaka Krafka, life has changed drastically throughout her Mary Kay journey. Annaka was introduced to the Mary Kay opportunity by her Mom and recruiter, Independent Executive Senior Sales Director Nancy Osborn. “I was in a rut,” Annaka explains, “going to school full time, working on the side and planning a wedding. I was bound and determined not to walk down the aisle tired, broke and overwhelmed.” Annaka’s perception of working her Mary Kay business, from watching her Mom, was clear. “When you work, it works.” So after Annaka signed her Independent Beauty Consultant Agreement, she didn’t spend time doubting the opportunity. “I just worked the business and trusted the process,” she claims. 12 months after Annaka debuted as an Independent Sales Director, she and her husband, Aaron, said “I do.”

Every time her life situation changed, Annaka recalls she had to dig in, work on herself and clarify her “why.” “When I kept my ‘why’ clear, I broke through the obstacles and the fear. This business is about other people and helping them get what they want. The focus is not to just ‘sell,’ but to intentionally build a relationship. Through that process, the relationship unveils her story… her past, present and a vision for her future! I’ve learned that when I’m working in my own strengths, it’s a sweet spot where joy and passion explode out of me! Building relationships, as you lead people forward in the career path, is the best investment you can make in your own future.” In the midst of the work, Annaka says it’s not always easy to see where the blessings lie, “but when looking back, it’s clear that our dreams are attached” and there is a plan bigger than we are. Now, with their three girls and a Pink Cadillac, Annaka laughs that they live in a real Barbie Dream House! Raising daughters Aizlynn, Amarae, and Alaria, one might say that Annaka and Aaron got “all A’s” in the family category! Their oldest two daughters are in competitive dance, so when they are not watching a performance, they love being outdoors…running, swimming, golfing and snow skiing.

"Because of Mary Kay Ash’s dream, I have an opportunity to live my life with God first, family second and career third. Most often, people don’t work in an arena where they get to keep their priorities in check.” Annaka says the Mary Kay culture has made a huge difference in her life and she will continue to build leaders, alongside the women in her National Area, with a “Go Give,” rather than “Go Get” mentality, hoping to make a difference in the lives of everyone they meet. Annaka’s National Area is the W.I.L.D. Area: Women Intentionally Living Dreams.
