World’s best teaching. A former physical education teacher and coach, Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Carol Lawler thrived in her Mary Kay “classroom”. “It’s so nice to teach women who are there to have fun and are willing to learn,” says Carol. “Teachers love to teach, and I get the same value teaching women in my Mary Kay business!”
Carol signed her Independent Beauty Consultant Agreement after a P.E. class while wearing sweatpants, green eye shadow and lip balm. Her idea of beauty has advanced over the years, along with her Mary Kay business. “I used to think being a leader meant you had to be pushy, and that’s wrong. I like being a leader. I’ve learned to be a role model and to encourage others,” says Carol.
She’s especially proud of the example she’s provided for her three sons over the years. “When you work away from home, you drop off your kids and pick them up at the end of the day. When you work from home, they see how you treat people and how hard you work. They see that when you hit a goal, you cheer and celebrate. When you don’t, you keep the pity party short and sweet,” she says wisely.
Carol’s favorite saying demonstrates her incredible faith — and work ethic. “Just pray and go to work,” she says. “There are a million ways to work a Mary Kay business, but I advise when using the gifts I believe God gave us, praying and doing the work, success may be achieved.”
