Life as it should be. When she resigned from nursing to take care of her family, Independent Executive National Sales Director Emeritus Arlene Lenarz had no idea she would find herself at the very top of the Mary Kay ladder 30 years later. Originally, she became an Independent Beauty Consultant to provide for her four children’s college educations. Along the way, she discovered a passion for helping women.

“I was meeting sharp, talented, intelligent women who were stuck in dead-end, low-status, low-paying jobs – women, like myself, who were searching for self-identity and personal growth,” Arlene says. “There were single-parent moms who were in desperate need of Mary Kay, and career women who had climbed to the very top of the corporate structure only to find ‘Men Only’ on the door.”

These women, like Arlene, found an unparalleled opportunity in Mary Kay. “I had always dreamed about having my own business, but never had the financial capital necessary to get started,” Arlene says. “My life turned around the day I became an Independent Beauty Consultant. I knew I had found a home.”

Today, Arlene signifies what is possible when you do what you love to do. Her favorite quote: “When you do something with your whole being simply because you love it, you experience life as it should be lived.” Arlene now experiences an amazing life, living it to the fullest.
