Discover your greatness. Independent National Sales Director Julia Mundy-Garner has encountered many challenges along the way in her journey to discovering her own unique greatness. She believes that overcoming included staying the course and her willingness to grow and learn from setbacks, so that they would not be wasted. “I believe God created us all to be extraordinary,” Julia explains.

Julia, a Texas girl, grew up in Bryan, Texas with a strong work ethic. “My parents always told me I could do anything I put my mind to,” and I believed them. “There was always a voice inside, pushing me to strive for excellence.” Her natural drive and inner competitiveness have served her well, because Julia says the journey included missed goals and feeling overwhelmed. With the support of her husband, Chip, and the family unity they have built together with their children, Clark and Clara Grace, their teamwork makes the dream work.

“My success has come from helping others find their victories. My journey has made me more others-focused and I’m also better able to ask for help, rather than try to handle everything myself. It’s taught me to reach up to God every day and to have a grateful attitude. Faith never stops and a goal is never to be let go. In other words, never give up!” Julia says much of her success was fueled by the faith and belief Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Rena Tarbet poured into her. “She gave me permission to be myself and trust myself. She taught me to push past what I thought my limits were. Her strong work ethic, I carry with me today. She knew that life was short and we should seize the moment.” Rena’s affirmation to Julia on the 50th anniversary Seminar stage, when Julia debuted as a New Independent National Sales Director, was very meaningful to her and was an invaluable gift she will hold in her heart forever.

Julia says the influence of Mary Kay Ash has deep roots in her soul. “When I met her at my New Sales Director class, she took my hand and told me she saw a pink Cadillac in my driveway. What great power she had of believing in others. She planted a seed of a dream in me that day and entrusted that seed to me.”

As a sojourner, “I can personally carry Mary Kay Ash’s message and mission. As an NSD, she’s commissioned me to keep the dream alive and that touches every facet of my life. Professionally, it’s a new place for me to grow and it offers my family security for our future. As an Independent National Sales Director, I want to influence others by stretching them until they discover their own greatness,” Julia says. Have faith and carry on.
