Commitment to faith and family brings focus. “My life feels almost like a dream,” says Independent Elite Executive National Sales Director Sonia Páez. Sonia came to the United States at 17, after leaving El Salvador, to join her family in New York.

Years of struggle and challenges to overcome the language difference culminated in a double-duty job for Sonia at a chiropractor’s office and at an auto-repair shop. But, it was, at the most unlikely of the two places – the repair shop – where her destiny began to take shape. “The morning I now hold dear in my heart, a lady came for service on her pink Cadillac Career Car, and invited me to a weekly unit meeting.”

How did this insecure girl flourish into a self-confident woman? Sonia explains, “For me, the priorities of God first, family second and career third were right in line with my convictions. I embraced the Mary Kay opportunity in the midst of insecurities, lack of skills and much uncertainty.”

And, family is so important to Sonia. They now reside in Florida in the house of their dreams. “My commitment to God and my family are my focus. With Him as my partner and with the loving support of my family, I will strive to improve every day. ”
